Net Control asks for callers to check in with their call sign according to groups. The first group is the AEC’s (Assistant Emergency Coordinators). The next groups are suffixes beginning with A to F, then G to L, then M to S, and then T to Z, and finally, anyone. The suffix is the part of your call sign after the number. For example, the suffix for KK6EKN is EKN, and is in the A to F group, Net Control will acknowledge everyone heard in the group. If you aren’t acknowledged, try again. A Shift Supervisor/Scribe will also be listening in and will help relay calls the Net Control doesn’t hear.
After everyone has checked in, Net Control hands the net over to the Shift Supervisor/Scribe, who makes announcements about upcoming trainings and events. Meanwhile, Net Control tunes to the Main Net frequency and reports the number of check-ins for Mountain View and listens for the number of check-ins from other cities.
After finishing the announcements, the Shift Supervisor/Scribe waits for Net Control to come back from the Main Net and take over. Net Control will report the number of check-ins from other cities, ask if there is any other business, and then close the net.
